Bio:

Sealannan (say-lan-nan) Gladomain (glad-o-mane) is the youngest son of of a minor noble in the court of the Marquis of Winter’s Frost. Sealannan attended the finest schools growing up and became a eager student of history. He grew up an observer to the many court intrigues, flying underneath the radar and largely ignored due to his introverted nature and marginal station. In actuality, Sealannan never fully felt a part of fey society and couldn’t grasp the significance of the petty squabbles and feuds in which the nobles frequently engaged. His way with words allowed him to avoid conflicts and his lust for knowledge led him into the service of Ioun. Recalling his vacations in Nerath while growing up, the facinating stories he heard and the personalities he met, Sealannan became a Chronicler in Nerath, with the goal of preserving all the personality and quirks of his strange adopted land. He obtained the estate where he vacationed as a child in a game of Three Dragon Ante and retained its former owner as caretaker of the property whenever Sealannan’s travels took him elsewhere. Life was good and Sealannan was content, until the fall of the empire of Nerath.

While the empire crumbled around him, Sealannan was faced with a difficult decision. Due the instability in Nerath, the Marquis ordered his courtiers back to the safety of the Feywild. It was difficult to disobey, but Sealannan felt strongly that his work now was more important than ever, and he rededicated himself to preserving the culture and knowledge of Nerath against the coming Dark Age. In a last ditch attempt to sway him, Sealannan’s mother sent his second cousin Theodorael to Nerath, but his efforts were futile as the fey portal was destroyed during the fighting.

Sealannan has spent the last hundred or so years searching for a way back to the Feywild, but part of him is skeptical of what he will ultimately find if and when he returns home. Theodorael is somewhat resentful of being trapped in the Nentir Vale, and never misses an opportunity to remind Sealannan of his plight. Sealannan’s research uncovered the location of the Tome of Portals he assembled a team of temple operatives to retreive it – his first mission into the field in many years. This recent mission has invigorated him and now Sealannan yearns to seek adventure and be present at the making of history (and write it himself) rather than merely reading about great deeds in musty scrolls. He is convinced that Vesta, the tiefling invoker, will play a key role in a great upcoming event and Sealannan wants to be part of it.

Sealannan maintains his air of superiority among non-fey, frequently referring to his companions as his “children” as a constant reminder of his elder stature and years of experience (even if much of it was spent cloistered in libraries or behind desks). He would never consciously reveal his fascination of the material world and he overcompensates by comparing everything imaginable unfavorably to its fey counterparts.
